(Lafayette, Louisiana) - Some good news out of Lafayette, Louisiana, as the school district has announced that a coffee shop will be opening in one of the area's high schools.

In a press release sent to us, the Lafayette Parish School System announced that PJ's Coffee will open inside of Acadiana High.

Yes, a coffee shop will be in a high school, and while this may sound surprising to some, it's not uncommon for these types of stores or shops to open in high schools.

The coffee shop will be operated by students, which will give the students hands-on experience in running and maintaining a business.

Students and faculty will cut the ribbon on the PJ’s Coffee Shop at the school on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 10 am.

We wish the students and faculty at Acadiana High the best of luck with this latest adventure, as it is great to see students getting hands-on experience for the "real world." Who knows, perhaps a student at this school will be inspired to one day own his or her own PJ's Coffee Shop.
