While many people were hunkering down in Louisiana as Hurricane Francine made landfall, one young man took out his trumpet and played "Amazing Grace" while standing in the rain.

WBRZ shared footage of a student from St. Amant High School performing the song as Hurricane Francine dumped rain over much of southeastern Louisiana.

While many do often turn to prayers as storms approach, this young man turned to the hymns as the skies were darkened above.

We think you'll love this great news story and we salute this young man for taking the time to display his talent while so many were hoping for the best as a powerful Category 2 storm approached the area.

Reports out on Thursday say that some parts of southern Louisiana received up to a foot of rainfall in a short time, and now some are cleaning up after the flood in the New Orleans area.

Here's the student doing his part as the storm approached.
