One man had enough of people walking across his lawn, so he found a way to deter them from doing it in the future.

Thomas Lyons, who loves his lawn and yard, witnessed one too many crossing across his well-manicured lawn and that is when he came up with this plan or technique to stop the trespassers.

Lyons' yard was being used by pedestrians as a "shortcut" between two points and rather than build a barrier or fence around his property, he decided to think a bit more outside of the box.

He devised a plan to use an underground sprinkler that would be activated as soon as someone walked across this yard.

Yes, the sprinkler would turn on and spray anyone coming across his yard.

Well, this technique to turn away those in his yard gained a lot of attention on social media, with some supporting his idea and others not supporting it.

According to a report that I read, authorities did get involved and ruled that this man's sprinkler activation was not against the law being that it did not put anyone in harm's way.

Lyons was not aware that his strategy to repel trespassers was so controversial, and when he did find out about the critics he reassured many that he had no intention of injuring anyone.

So, what do you think of this strategy? Let us know in the comment section of the social page that linked you to this story.
