Slemco Announces Planned Power Outage for August 9, 2023
It's the last thing you want to hear during a heat wave, the power will be cut off.
Slemco has annoounced that they will be forced to cut the power in a section of Youngsville at 2 am on August 9, 2023.
Two large fuses have to be replaced after they melted and this is going to require that a certain power grid be cut off.
The area affected by this power outage will be the Sugar Mill Pond neighborhood.
The extreme temperatures are now taking a toll on power companies and this is one of the latest repairs announced due to extreme temperatures.
Slemco stated the following in their announcement about the power outage:
"The outage is expected to last two to three hours. As much work as possible will be performed in advance and staged at the location by our Overhead, Underground and Substation personnel to minimize outage time. We appreciate your patience as we work to improve service to Sugar Mill Pond."
If you live in the area you may want to make arrangements now, or if you know of anyone who may be affected by this power outage, you should let them know and perhaps even invite them over to escape what could be some very uncomfortable conditions in the early morning hours.
