Video of Woman Twerking on LSU PMAC Arena Balcony Goes Viral
What started as a back-to-school block party at LSU has now gone global after a woman was filmed twerking from the balcony of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center (PMAC). With thousands of students gathered below, the moment quickly went viral social media, with one reporter calling it “Poppin’ at the PMAC.”

The dancer, who goes by Sasha, told WAFB she and her crew, including viral singer Mel, weren’t paid to perform. “It was not no strategic plan behind it. It’s just what we did when we had to turn the crowd up,” she explained.
Cheers and Criticism
While many students laughed, cheered, and recorded the performance from every angle imaginable, some officials weren’t amused.
Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill released a statement saying the impromptu show wasn’t the kind of image LSU should promote. “A twerk fest outside the PMAC tarnishes the image of a school with much to be proud of,” Murrill said.
Online reactions, however, leaned the other way. One commenter wrote, “Her twerking is the bare minimum. Y’all act like this doesn’t happen on every college campus.” Another mentioned other shortcomings on campus in comparison, “They worried about her dancing and not the rats and roaches in the dorms.”
LSU Community Reacts
Alumni and students chimed in as well. “It’s 2025 in South Louisiana and twerking at a college campus is on the news?” one Facebook user said. Others joked about LSU’s traditions, with one adding, “Wait til they hear the band play Neck… oh, wait.”
The mix of pearl-clutching and support has made the video one of the most talked-about moments of LSU’s welcome week on campus and beyond.
What’s Next
Sasha says she hopes to return, but in a more “respectful and responsible way.” For now, the balcony twerk video continues to enjoy its 15 minutes of fame as students get back to class on LSU's campus.
