LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL News) — All lanes on I-10 Eastbound have been re-opened following the major crash that hospitalized one and closed a lane on Friday morning.

ORIGINAL STORY

A major traffic accident on I-10 in Lafayette has left a driver hospitalized and long delays in the eastbound lanes.

The Lafayette Police Department is currently on the scene of a major vehicle crash near the University exit on I-10 Eastbound (Exit 101). Officers at the scene responded after a single vehicle crash into the guardrail along the roadway. The driver of the vehicle has been transported to a local hospital.

According to LPD, the driver sustained severe, but not life-threatening, injuries.

I-10 Eastbound, which is a heavily-trafficked roadway, has been reduced to one lane for the time being. Drivers should be looking for alternates routes or be prepared for significant delays.
