Labor Day Fire In Scott Is Suspicious In Nature
A dwelling that had been vacant for several months suddenly catches on fire. That scenario has raised the suspicion of investigators with the Lafayette Fire Department's Arson Investigation Division.
Firefighters in Scott were called out yesterday to a blaze at a home in the 100 block of Albarado Road. The home which had been vacant for several months was reportedly heavily involved in flames by the time fire crews arrived on the scene at 2:40 yesterday.
Despite the heavy flames and smoke that engulfed the building fire crews were able to bring the blaze under control in a very short time. The damage to the structure was rather significant as investigators continue to search for the cause of the blaze.
