Lafayette Attorney Booked On Forgery Charge

Lafayette lawyer Harold Register Jr. has been arrested for allegedly forging of one of his client's checks.

Lafayette Parish Sheriff's spokesman John Mowell said Register forged a check belonging to his client in the amount of $12,500.

Investigators determined Register deposited the forged check into his account.

On Thursday, Lafayette Magistrate Thomas Fredrick issues an arrest warrant for Register. He turned himself in to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office.

Register's bond has been set at $50,000.
