Lafayette Confirms First COVID-19 Death

Mayor President Josh Guillory announced today during his coronavirus update that Lafayette Parish now has one confirmed death as a result of COVID-19.

No other details were provided by Guillory about the death, but LCG did say that more deaths are expected in Lafayette Parish.

According to our media partners KATC, Guillory also added that "rapid COVID-19 tests are expected at local hospitals in the coming weeks."
