Lafayette General Enforcing 'No Visitor Policy' Again

More than a month after easing some visitor restrictions at its facilities, Lafayette General Health announced they will go back into effect tonight. Citing the skyrocketing COVID-19 case numbers and local hospitalizations, the system said the move is important to "maintain an environment of infection control." Exceptions are in place for pediatrics, laboring moms, surgery, and end-of-life patients as well as patients with disabilities.

Pediatrics/NICU - TWO Parents or Guardians
End-of-Life Patients - Spouse/Partner/Adult Child
Surgery - One visitor pre- and post-surgery until 8 p.m.
Patients with cognitive, physical or mobility impairments - ONE visitor

Masks are required by visitors and no visitor can have symptoms of COVID-19.

All visitors must be asymptomatic and wear a mask. To be clear, there should be no visitors for urgent care, emergency room, or clinic visits unless the patient needs assistance or the patient is a minor. COVID-19 patients cannot have visitors unless they are at the end of life.
