To be honest, there aren't too many reasons anybody would really want to go to Waco, Texas. Especially Waco, Texas in August, but a special group of youngsters from Lafayette have found a really good reason. The Lafayette Little League team is on their way to Waco as Louisiana State Champions. The Lafayette team defeated South Lake Charles Thursday night 6-3 to advance to the regional playoffs and perhaps a trip to Williamsport, Pennsylvania for the Little League World Series.

The Lafayette crew will face their first foe Friday Night at 6pm when they battle a team from Midland, Texas. Saturday night the Lafayette crew will face a team from Arkansas. After a day off on Sunday the Lafayette champs will face a team from Pearland, Texas.
