Lafayette, Louisiana Crime Statistics December 2025

Lafayette, Louisiana's crime rates, particularly violent crime, have generally risen in the last few years, and property crime has remained consistently high. This doesn’t necessarily mean every neighborhood saw increases because trends can vary by area and crime type.

Property crimes include things like robbery, burglary, and theft, and these crimes unfortunately remained high through 2025 as a whole. Unfortunately, there were also almost 1,000 vehicle crashes reported in Lafayette Parish for December 2025 alone.

Another December crime statistic for Lafayette Parish that remained high, in a good way, is that the Lafayette Police Department was able to seize nearly $200,000 in narcotics, keeping these dangerous drugs off the street. Pretty good for just one month.
