A cold front is pushing its way across Louisiana today. In its aftermath there will be a decided return to winter weather. While there won't be any frozen precipitation there will be temperatures below the freezing mark for a good portion of Acadiana.

The coldest temperatures will be seen early Friday and early Saturday morning with readings in the upper 20's expected across much of the region.  While skies today and Friday should include some sunshine, look for the break in the cold gray weather to be short lived as another storm system will move across the area on Sunday. This system is expected to bring a significant opportunity for rainfall in the area.

As of today, the long range outlook for the return to school next Monday should have temperatures running below average but no rainfall to complicate the return to the classroom.
