Yesterday was a very pleasant day across most of Acadiana. I spent a good deal of time outdoors and if you were standing in the sunshine it felt really great. If you were in the shade or caught in that little bit of a breeze that was blowing you might have wished for a jacket. Things aren't looking quite as cold nor nearly as wet for the upcoming work week in South Louisiana.

Milder temperatures will be moving into the area thanks to a nice breeze from off the Gulf of Mexico. That Gulf air carries a lot of  moisture so while we'll enjoy more springlike temperatures we will also have to put up with foggy conditions at least a couple of mornings this week.

The forecast for today and Monday calls for a mix of clouds and sun. There will be a slight risk of rain showers for both days. This won't be a huge chance of rain but a passing shower won't be out of the question. Midweek Tuesday through Thursday should be partly cloudy and mild but by Friday a good chance of rain will enter the forecast.

The rain chances of Friday will linger into Saturday and could cause an issue with those wanting to enjoy Mardi Gras festivities that take place next weekend. We suggest you stay close to the world's greatest meteorologist Dave Baker, Rob Perillo and Daniel Phillips at KATC for forecast updates throughout the week.
