Friday night football was interrupted by a late game shower at many stadiums across Acadiana last night. Will that same chance of showers get in the way of fans who are on the road to Baton Rouge or in the stands at Cajun Field? Oh yeah, there is a tropical cyclone in the gulf too! Here is the latest.

Tropical Storm Ingrid is getting stronger in the Bay of Campeche. This part of the Gulf of Mexico has been a launching pad for some of the Northern Gulf's most damaging storms. Ingrid will most likely not be included in that list. While the current forecast does call for the storm to intensify and eventually reach hurricane status. The forecast track and suggested model guidance are in agreement that Ingrid will be an issue for Mexico.

The tailgate forecast for LSU Tiger fans and for UL Ragin Cajun fans is about the same. Those in attendance at both games can expect afternoon temperatures to be just below 90 degrees. There is a slight chance of a passing shower or thunderstorm.

Why don't you take a moment to think about where you would take your family in the event one of these showers brings lightning to the area. Lightning can be very deadly especially when you consider the many tall structures in and around a football stadium.

Temperature at kickoff should be in the upper 80's and should cool to near 80 by the end of the game. Don't forget your sunscreen and to drink plenty of water in addition to all of those other beverages and delicious tailgate treats.
