Laine Hardy Makes Top 3 of American Idol
The final five contestants on "American Idol" were dwindled down to three last night and our Louisiana boy, Laine Hardy, made the cut.
It was Elton John night and each contestant sang a song from the pop-rock icon. Hardy performed "Something About the Way You Look Tonight."
After his performance, judge Lionel Richie told Laine he has the style and sound of a winner.
He would also perform the Marshall Tucker Band classic "Can't You See" along with "Hey Jude" in honor of his brother.
At the end of the night, and after fan voting, the three contestants that stood were Laine Hardy, Alejandro Aranda and Madison VanDenberg.
The finale of American Idol's 17th season is Sunday, May 20th at 7 pm on KATC TV-3.
Laine will also be a part of a homecoming parade and concert on Tuesday evening.
Details are still being worked out, but Laine will be recognized by his hometown of Livingston with several events.
He will meet with Gov. John Bel Edwards in the morning followed by a parade and free concert Tuesday evening. The parade will go along US 190 and the concert will be at the Livingston Parish Fairgrounds.
