A well-known and unique festival in southwest Louisiana is calling it quits.

Citing low attendance, financial problems and a lack of volunteers, the Lake Arthur Regatta Festival has been forced to end after seven years.

The news was announced on the Festival's Facebook page.

While feelings were mixed about the festival ending, it seems that many weren't surprised with the decision.

Having worked with many local festivals, we can totally understand and appreciate the amount of effort it takes to make an event a success.

We can all help by getting out and supporting our local and regional festivals!
