Law Enforcement Officials Caution Public Of False Threats Via Social Media

Our country is currently in turmoil. Emotions are running high everywhere you turn. A quick look at your Facebook and Twitter feeds reflects these emotions. The last thing any of us need is this situation getting worse, and local law enforcement are letting the public know they have a close eye on social media.

In a press release, Louisiana State Police Colonel Mike Edmonson says “Law enforcement officials take these types of threats very seriously. It is essential that the integrity and transparency of this investigation be maintained so that it may be properly concluded."

State officials are urging the public not to circulate false rumors. If the public has any information related to any threats, you are asked to send the information to the Louisiana Fusion Center at lafusion.center@la.gov.
