The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Monday, July 20th.

There have been 94,892 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. There are nearly 3,200 more reported cases since yesterday. But, this includes a backlog of 1,583 cases, with specimen collection dates 5/18-7/13.

Numbers show that there are 1,508 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized. That is 39 more hospitalizations reported since yesterday. This puts the state over 1,500 hospitalizations for the first time since May 5th.

192 patients are on ventilators across the state.

The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 increased by 24 to 3,462.

As of today, 53,288 COVID-19 patients are presumed to have recovered. That's 6,954 more recovered patients since last week.

The total number of coronavirus cases that have been in the Acadiana region is 11,954 with 297 total deaths reported.

Lafayette Parish: 5,001 total cases, 59 total deaths

Iberia Parish: 1,671 total cases, 54 total deaths

St. Martin Parish: 1,254 total cases, 30 total deaths

St. Mary Parish: 1,106 total cases, 39 total deaths

St. Landry Parish: 1,527 total cases, 65 total deaths

Acadia Parish: 1,844 total cases, 53 total deaths

Evangeline Parish: 494 total cases, 2 total deaths

Vermilion Parish: 810 total cases, 12 total deaths
