On Thursday (Feb. 28), Lindsay Ell underwent surgery to remove "pre-cancerous cells" from her body, and on social media on Friday (March 1), the singer offered a positive update. The procedure went well, she shares, and she'll be back on the road very soon.

"Everything went good," Ell writes, thanking her fans for their well wishes. "Grateful for the doctors & nurses for getting me in before my month trip around the world ... I leave tonight, and am a surgery thumbs up."

Ell begins an overseas trek on Saturday (March 2) and had been spending some time at home in Nashville before the tour began when doctors, during a routine check-up, discovered "pre-cancerous cells growing in my body that need to be removed," the artist shared. In her message telling fans about her surgery, Ell encouraged them to be vigilant with their own medical care.

"Sometimes we think we’re fine. Sometimes we think we eat healthy and workout, and that means we should be fine," Ell says. "But never underestimate the power of a check up at the doctor. You never know, and if you catch something early enough, it could save your life."

Ell recently told The Boot that she was headed back into the studio to cut a sophomore major-label album with the help of producer Kristian Bush, working around her Monster Energy Outbreak Tour schedule. She is currently enjoying the success of her recent duet with Brantley Gilbert, "What Happens in a Small Town."
