The Louisiana Department of Education released their guidance plan to day on what suggestions they have to safely reopen schools according to a press release on their website.

This plan is only guidance as Lafayette Parish School Board member Justin Centanni has said it is up to each school district to decide exactly how they reopen schools.

The new State Superintendent Cade Brumley had this to say today,

We developed this guidance by engaging experts on the virus - public health officials - and experts on what this guidance looks like when put into practice - school leaders and educators. We understand next year will be a new challenge for all of us as we educate through COVID-19. I have confidence in our collective talents to overcome these challenges. We will depend on each other for innovative ideas, best practices and the promise of a quality education for every child.

Lafayette Parish's date to release their plan, according to Centanni, is July 22.
