People get mad when they don't get their money. And for one Louisiana man, that anger over the COVID-19 stimulus checks has landed him in hot water with authorities and I would imagine his mother is none to please with him as well.

Police in Avoyelles Parish say that Marvin Smith Junior of Hamburg was taken into custody on April 20th on multiple charges including one count of simple arson. This after an investigation into a fire in a shed at a residence in the 800 block of Old Highway 1.

Investigators with the State Fire Marshal's office determined that Smith set the fire after getting into an argument with his mother. The reason for the discord was the status of Smith's stimulus check from the federal government.
