Louisiana Powerball Win Confirmed After Saturday Drawing

Lottery players in Louisiana have scored a big money win in Saturday's multi-state lottery game Powerball. The game which is played in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and The U.S. Virgin Islands was boasting a top prize in the July 15th drawing of $875 million dollars.

The Powerball website confirmed the numbers drawn were:

The Powerball website has confirmed that no single ticket sold across the game's footprint matched the numbers needed to claim the jackpot prize of $875 million dollars. That means the estimated top prize for the game's next drawing on Monday will be $900 million or maybe even more. 

The Texas Lottery has confirmed that two tickets sold in the Lone Star State were Match 5 prize winners. In other words, each of those tickets matched all the white balls but not the Powerball. The prize for Match 5 is $1,000,000.00. We can confirm the points of purchase for those million dollar winners in Texas. One was sold in Katy, Texas at the Edge Mart. The other was sold in Frisco, Texas at the Circle K on Eldorado Parkway.

The Texas Lottery has also confirmed that there were eight tickets sold in that state that earned a prize of $50,000 and another single ticket that is valued at $100,000 this morning.

Louisiana's lottery luck was not nearly as boisterous as Texas' lucky day was. Louisiana did not get a Match 5 winner.  However there were almost 100 tickets sold in Louisiana for last night's Powerball game that are worth at least $100 bucks this morning. And Louisiana did get a $50,000 winner too.

The $50,000 winning ticket matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball. The ticket purchaser did not opt-in on the Power Play. According to the Louisiana Lottery's Big Wins page that $50,000 winner was sold in Baton Rouge at Jeff's Food Mart on Jefferson Highway.

I am sure even more players will be trying their luck Monday night when the next Powerball drawing is held. Again the jackpot is estimated to be $900 million on Monday night. The Mega Millions game did not get a winner on Friday so that jackpot will be an estimated $640 million on Tuesday.

There were no winners in either the Lotto game or the Easy 5 game on Saturday night. The jackpot for Lotto will be an estimated $1,000,000 and the top prize in Easy 5 will be an estimated $240,000. Both of those games will draw next on Wednesday night.
