Technically, the calendar says it's Fall, although Louisiana weather kind of does what it wants. It's OK, we're used to 90 degree temperatures during the Fall Season, and we still have our awesome pumpkin patches anyway.

Speaking of, it got us thinking...what is the biggest pumpkin patch in the entire state of Louisiana?

We did a little digging, and here what we found out...

Mrs. Heather's Pumpkin Patch Is Back For Fall 2026

Mrs. Heather's Pumpkin Patch opened for the 2026 season on September 23 and is scheduled to remain open through November 8. The farm is open seven days a week during the season.

The farm's website, thfarms.com, says the pumpkin patch is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine.

And there's one important thing to remember before you head out...bring cash.

Mrs. Heather's currently lists the pumpkin patch as cash only.

How Much Does Mrs. Heather's Pumpkin Patch Cost?

Admission is currently $10 per child, including newborns and up.

That admission includes one pumpkin and access to the activities around the farm. Parents are free when they're visiting with paying children, while adults without children pay $10 each.

So, yes, this is more than just paying to walk around and look at pumpkins.

You're actually getting a pretty full fall experience for that admission price.

There's Way More Than Just Pumpkins

Located at 11215 Lee's Lane in Hammond, the family-owned farm turns into a giant fall playground every year, complete with pumpkins, mazes, games, rides, photo opportunities and plenty of things to keep the kids busy.

The farm lists activities including:

Pumpkin picking
Hay maze
Corn maze
Jumping pillow
Merry-go-round
Face painting
Duck racing
Nature trail
Farm games
Photo opportunities
Pony hop
Learning how pumpkins grow
Pumpkin weighing and measuring
Cartoon character visits
Picnic areas
Pumpkin painting on weekends

You Can Pick Your Own Pumpkin

Yes, taking the kids out to a giant pumpkin patch for pictures and fun is great, but picking your own pumpkin is really worth the price of admission.

For kids, that's a whole lot more fun than grabbing a pumpkin from a grocery-store display. They get to wander around, find one they like and take it home.

Mrs. Heather's Farm says the pumpkin patch has been a Hammond-area family destination for about 30 years.

Here's a little tip if you're not a fan of standing in long lines with a bunch of sugar-fueled children running around.

Consider going on a weekday.

The farm is open seven days a week, so you're not limited to Saturday and Sunday.

Weekends are naturally popular during October, particularly as Halloween gets closer.

If you've been looking for something fun to do with the family this fall, Mrs. Heather's Pumpkin Patch is definitely one Louisiana destination to put on the list.
