LSU has fired their band director, ending a career of almost two decades at the university.

The university terminated the longtime Director of The Golden Band after he allegedly gave out scholarships to members of the Golden Girls and the Color Guard, using money designated from athletics and not from the school of music.

Roy King, the former band director, was notified of employment status by LSU on Tuesday, according to his attorney.
