LSU Freshman Catcher Leaving Baseball Program
The LSU baseball program has lost a catcher.
Freshman Mason Doolittle has decided to leave the Tigers, with only a couple of spring practices under his belt.
A native of Jupiter, Florida, Doolittle was competing with junior college transfer Hunter Feduccia for the starting job.
Doolittle, who was honored 2017 Rawlings-Perfect Game 3rd Team All-American, attended Jupiter High School.
Doolittle becomes the third player to leave the LSU program since the 2017 season ended, joining freshmen infielders Mason Templet and Rankin Woley.
