The LSU Tigers baseball are heading to Omaha for the College World Series and an opening round matchup against Florida State on Saturday night at 7pm.

Two of their players are heading to nice MLB paydays.

Standout pitcher Alex Lange (pictured above) was drafted in the 1st round, 30th overall last night by the Chicago Cubs.

First baseman Greg Deichmann went 13 picks later at 43rd overall in the 2nd round to the Oakland Athletics.

For Deichmann, the decision to return for his junior season has paid off in more ways than one. Not only is he an All-American and core piece of an Omaha team, he was taken in the draft 24 rounds earlier than he was last year.

As a draft eligible sophomore last summer, the Minnesota Twins selected him in the 26th round. As the 43rd overall pick, he's in line for a much bigger signing bonus.
