This past Friday  night it sure looked like everything was coming up purple and gold in the Baton Rouge Regional of NCAA Men's Baseball Tournament. Sometime on Sunday the wheels started to wobble on the LSU bandwagon and Monday night they came completely off.

LSU went into Sunday night's contest in the winner's bracket of the Baton Rouge Regional. All they had to do was win one of two games against the Houston Cougars and it was on to Super Regional action. Sunday night saw some timely Houston hitting and little lady luck creeping in for the Cougars as they managed to get by LSU in 11 innings.

Monday figured to be all LSU. The Tigers had played one less game than  Houston in the Regional and the Tigers were in the very friendly confines of Alex Box Stadium. None of that mattered to the lads from Houston.  It started out good enough for LSU as the Tigers took a two run lead in the first inning. After that it was all Houston for the rest of the night. As Houston put 12 unanswered runs on the board to claim the Regional victory by a score of 12-2.
