Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd are going to be parents! The couple announced on Tuesday (Oct. 22) that they are expecting a baby boy in 2020.

"The irony is too rich that after a year of living in the "GIRL" headspace, the universe would give us a baby boy to even things out," Morris writes on Instagram, nodding to her sophomore album, Girl, and its title track, which she released earlier this year. "See you in 2020, little one."

An equally excited Hurd took a goofier approach to sharing his and Morris' big news: "MY BOYS CAN SWIM. BABY BOY HURD 2020!" the singer-songwriter writes on Instagram, thanking the fictional Seinfeld character George Costanza "for this caption that I've been sitting on my entire life."

On a more serious note, Hurd adds of Morris, "Look at her ... cannot believe this life with this girl."

Morris and Hurd have been married for about a year and a half, since March of 2018. The two got engaged in July of 2017, after meeting in 2013, during a songwriting session. Both singer-songwriters signed to Sony Music Nashville, the two were randomly put together to write; during that session, they penned “Last Turn Home,” which Tim McGraw recorded. The pair remained friends for a couple of years until, they say, "the timing of it was inevitable."

According to a tweet from Hurd, Morris is due in March. In January, Morris told People that she and Hurd have known for some time that they wanted children. "If you’re gonna get married, you have to have those talks beforehand anyways," she explained, "and I definitely know that I want a family, and he would be such an amazing dad; he’s such a kid himself.

"I love his family, and he loves my family," she added, "so we’ve definitely had those conversations, and they’ve been really fun and exciting.”
