The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Thursday, May 7th.

There are now 30,652 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. That number is up 253 since yesterday.

Numbers show that there are 1,432 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized- a decrease of 33 since yesterday.

189 patients are on ventilators across the state. That is a increase of 2 since yesterday.

The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 2,135, an increase of 41 since yesterday.

As of today, 20,316 COVID-19 patients are presumed to have recovered.

 

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Acadiana region is 1,685 (up 18 cases since yesterday) with 154 deaths reported (5 new deaths reported).

Lafayette Parish: 479 cases, 21 deaths (Up two cases with no new death reported since yesterday.)

Iberia Parish: 281 cases, 26 deaths (Up three cases with two new deaths reported since yesterday.)

St. Martin Parish: 254 cases, 20 deaths (Up 2 cases and 1 death since yesterday.)

St. Mary Parish: 222 cases, 24 deaths (7 new cases, no new deaths reported since yesterday.)

St. Landry Parish: 203 cases, 49 deaths (Up 1 case with one new death reported since yesterday)

Acadia Parish: 142 cases, 11 deaths (Two new cases and with one new death reported since yesterday.)

Evangeline Parish: 64 cases, 1 death (One new case and no new deaths since yesterday.)

Vermilion Parish: 40 cases, 2 deaths (No new cases, no new deaths since yesterday.)

The numbers are updated and released everyday at noon.
