The operators of the hospitality service Airbnb have created a list of what they are calling the most hospitable hosts in each state. These are Airbnb operators who go above and beyond to make sure that their guests have not only a stay that they feel was worth their money but more of an experience that money can't buy.

As someone who has spent more than a few nights at Airbnb's across the country, I can tell you it is the little things that make the biggest difference in your stay. While most of us only use short-term rentals for a few days while on vacation, there have been times when I have had to "survive" an extended stay at an Airbnb and I can vouch about what a huge difference little amenities and kind words made in my stay.

In order to be considered for the Airbnb Hospitable Host award an Airbnb host would have had to get 100% 5-star ratings for Cleanliness, Check-in, and Communication. The property and the host would have to have a minimum of 100 reviews. Airbnb says in many states they had hosts who "tied" on these criteria. The tie was broken by which property had the most reviews.

So, which Airbnb property and hosts were voted Most Hospitable in Louisiana?

That honor goes to Clay and Joy the proprietors and owners of a property called Bayou Long Beard. From what we can see on the Airbnb site the property features space for five guests. The space has one bedroom, two beds, and a bath. It features a large picture window that the owners say offers a picturesque view of the bayou and surrounding area.

The only drawback I can find for this property is that it is in Monroe. Now, if you wanted a nice place to stay that's fairly close to campus at ULM this would be the place. Not only is the property next to the university but it's close to waterfront restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, and more.

The properties "bio" suggests it's perfect for those who are in Monroe for business or university-related functions. The property is not suitable for children, it is handicap-accessible and pets are not allowed.

By the way, you can see which other Airbnb properties were honored with the Host of the Year recognition for each state right here. And safe travels where ever you go.
