Hear Miranda Lambert Team Up With Green Day for ‘Ordinary World’
On legendary punk band Green Day's latest album, Greatest Hits: God's Favorite Band, Miranda Lambert joins the trio on the track "Ordinary World." Readers can press play above to listen to the acoustic cross-genre harmony.
"Ordinary World" was previously released on Green Day's 2016 album Revolution Radio. The band re-recorded the song with Lambert specifically for their recent greatest hits project, which was released in mid-November.
Greatest Hits: God's Favorite Band features some of Green Day's best-loved songs, from the beginning of their career in 1991 to the release of Revolution Radio in 2016. The music and lyrics for "Ordinary World" were written by the band's lead singer, Billie Joe Armstrong.
"Ordinary World" is not Lambert's first time working with Armstrong: The pair performed together at the 2014 Grammy Awards, in an surprising-but-adorable tribute to the late Phil Everly. That night, they sang the Everly Brothers' 1960 hit "When Will I Be Loved."
Lambert was recently crowned Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2017 CMA Awards, almost a year after the release of her double-disc album The Weight of These Wings. She will kick off her Livin' Like Hippies Tour in January, with opener Jon Pardi and special guests at select locations including Brent Cobb, the Turnpike Troubadours, Lucie Silvas, the Steel Woods, Sunny Sweeney, Ashley McBryde and Charlie Worsham.
