Multi-Vehicle Crash Shuts Down I-10 East in Lafayette

Interstate 10 eastbound is closed at the I-49 interchange due to a multi-vehicle crash at the Louisiana Avenue exit.

The crash happened just before 2 am near mile marker 106.

State Police say that at least five vehicles were involved in the crash, with one of those being an 18-wheeler.

Troopers are reporting that two people have died in the crash and others have suffered serious injuries.

Eastbound traffic is being diverted off of I-10 at I-49.
