UPDATE: New Iberia Police Looking for a Teen Suspect for Killing a Teen
NEW IBERIA, La. (KPEL): UPDATED:
Officials with the New Iberia Police Department are now releasing more information about the body found behind an apartment complex in their city. They say a teenager is likely the person who killed another teenager.
Sgt. Daesha Hughes says the body of juvenile was found in the 500 block of West Admiral Doyle Drive apparently along the tree line in that area.
As is the same from what we learned before, officials with the police department will not be giving out any information on the identity of the young person. However, they are releasing that the person is believed to be a teen age boy between 15 and 16.
While the suspect was young so is the suspect they are seeking in connection with the victim's death. Hughes says they are searching for a 14-year-old male.
Hughes says what they believe at this point is that the juvenile died from a gunshot wound. She adds that they have yet to determine how long the body was there before it was reported to authorities.

New Iberia Police Department Spokesman Hughes says the body was found Monday near the apartment complex that has yet to be named by authorities.
As far as the circumstances surrounding the body, officials have not released any further details.
Officials are working to identify the victim. They have not yet given out the cause of death.
