According to a new poll that focused on voters in Louisiana's 6th Congressional District not only does former Governor Edwin Edwards and all his baggage is a shoe in for to make a runoff for that seat.

Edwards, according to the latest Glascock poll was the leading vote getter among all candidates. The former Governor was favored by 34% of voters surveyed. That put him 14 percentage points ahead of his closest challenger, Republican Garret Graves.

Graves is currently the hot candidate showing strong signs of forward momentum as election day approaches. His 20% showing in the Glascock poll puts him just ahead of Paul Dietzel . Diezel had the support of 19% of voters in the poll.

In a runoff situation Edwards continues to show strong numbers against all candidates. Can he make that magical 50% plus one vote needed to claim the 6th Congressional Senate seat? It's entirely possible and if it happens it will just be another exciting and interesting chapter in one of the most colorful political figures the world has ever known.
