Sometimes I feel like the oldest person in the room when I have to ask a teenager to help me with a technology question. And I know I'm not alone. For those of us who didn't grow up with the internet, it can be challenging at times to navigate through this new technological world. And social media, well that's a whole other ball game!

A new report from the Pew Research Center says that 34% of American citizens over the age of 65 do not use the internet. At all. And believe it or not, that's way down from 2000, where it was 48%. They also state that, however, seniors who are online are getting more advanced in technology because of easier to use apps. 55% of Americans over 50 are now on Facebook.

Education and location are big factors, and so is personal income. The US has the highest amount of people who have access to the internet, but we are still lagging behind for citizens who are 65 and older. I know this must be mind boggling to millennials, but it is indeed a fact of life. Oh, and FYI, I managed to get a college degree without ever getting on a computer. And thank you for reading this.....on the internet!
