Olympic Qualifying This Week in Bossier

The Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) Volleyball Intercontinental Olympic Qualification Tournament will be held August 2-4 at the CenturyLink Center in Bossier City. Argentina, Bulgaria and Kazakhstan will join the USA Women’s National team to qualify for the 2020 Olympics in Toyko. The United States is the only country to earn medals in each of the last three Olympic Games in women’s indoor volleyball.

Each nation is only allowed to participate in two tournaments to qualify for the Olympics, so the action is sure to be fast and fun in the next couple of days. According to KTBS in Shreveport 'TEAM USA is ranked #1 in the world. They play their first match Friday at 6 p.m. Saturday's USA game is at 5 p.m. and Sunday's is at 1 p.m. After that, it will be announced who will be heading to Tokyo in 2020.' The schedule is below. • Friday, Aug 2 - Argentina vs. Bulgaria, 3 p.m., USA vs. Kazakhstan, 6 p.m.
• Saturday, Aug 3 - USA vs. Bulgaria, 5 p.m., Kazakhstan vs. Argentina, 8 p.m.
• Sunday, August 4 - USA vs. Argentina, 1 p.m., Kazakhstan vs. Bulgaria, 4 p.m.
