It's every parent's worst nightmare, a call that your kid has been involved in a car accident.

Jeana Caldwell and her husband Christopher Caldwell lived through that nightmare recently when their two kids were involved in a crash, while in a Lafayette parking lot.

The family tells me that their kids were about to get food from Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers off of Kaliste Saloom Rd. when they were hit by another vehicle in the parking lot behind Buffalo Wild Wings, near Super Target.

That vehicle, along with others, was allegedly travelling through the parking lot at a very high rate of speed when the crash occurred. Apparently, this is a common occurrence in that parking lot and police in Lafayette seem to be aware of the issue.

Mrs Caldwell tells me, "Cops say it's private property and they don't stop them but if it continues this won't be the last time someone gets hurt."

Luckily her kids survived this scary crash in the parking lot, but unfortunately, they did sustain a few injuries. One of the girls in the crash suffered a concussion and has had lingering side effects days after this crash.

A video has surfaced on social media and it appears to show "sports cars" moving at a high rate of speed in the parking lot, where this crash happened.

The Caldwell family is sharing their experience and story with us in hopes that this type of driving behavior in the parking is put to an end.

They say that it's just a matter of time before someone is killed in this parking lot off of Ambassador Caffery if this type of reckless driving continues.
