New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis is coming off his 3rd NBA season, and the 22-year old phenom continues to be recognized for his incredible play.

Today, Davis was named to the All-NBA First Team, joining Warriors guard Steph Curry, Rockets guard James Harden, Cavaliers forward LeBron James, and Grizzlies center Marc Gasol on the prestigious squad.

Davis finished the season ranking 1rst in blocks, 4th in scoring, 7th in shooting percentage, and 8th in rebounding.

His player efficiency rating (PER), which ranks a player’s per-minute productivity in all areas of the game, was best in the NBA at 30.8, which also ranks as 11th best in NBA history.

Named a starter to the All-Star game, Davis finished 5th in MVP voting. Yesterday, he was named to the All-NBA Defense 2nd Team.

The All-NBA First Team honor may not be a surprise, but it’s still satisfying for one of the best players on the planet.

Davis is the 4th player in New Orleans franchise history to be named All-NBA, and only the second to be named to the 1rst Team (Chris Paul in 07-08).
