Customers Questioning Domino’s Receipts Over Undisclosed Fees
(KMDL-FM) The receipt for your pizza that you just had delivered, for most of us, it's the first thing that gets tossed in the trash. I know I don't pay a lot of attention to a flapping piece of paper attached to the pizza I ordered, but if you ordered pizza from Domino's, maybe you should.

A lawsuit has been filed against the pizza giant, encouraging participation in a class action suit against Domino's. The genesis of the legal action comes from some fine print that was included on many Domino's receipts, but most consumers didn't notice, didn't care, or just weren't sure what it was for.
According to the lawsuit, the extra fees were added by Domino's as a way to cover its own business expenses. Just to be clear, that would all be well and good if Domino's had disclosed in its advertising that the fees would be included in the final price of the products that were ordered. According to the lawsuit, they were not.

How to Find the "Junk Fee Charge" on Your Domino's Receipt
If you want to see if you have a legal beef with Domino's and you happen to have a receipt from a recent pizza or product order, here's what you're looking for. As you scan the receipt, you are looking for a line item called "Tax 2".
Most of us would see that and assume it's an "Uncle Sam thing". It's not. Uncle Sam and the state version of Uncle Sam already got their money because you should also see a line item on the receipt called "Tax".

The plaintiffs in the case, filed in California, say the practice of not disclosing the fees up front and in the advertised final price of the product violates the California Honest Pricing Act. As of now, the legal action is centered in California, but if the practice is determined to have been nationwide, Louisiana consumers could have a very stout legal leg to stand on.
We will keep you updated on the progress of the legal action. In the meantime, check your pizza receipts every time you get something delivered. Make sure you're getting exactly what you paid for.
