In a memo from the Lafayette City Court, judges and are in the process of rescheduling court sessions that were scheduled to be heard before June 1. That's according to our news partners at KATC. These include civil, criminal, traffic, and juvenile cases. Social distancing measures will still be in place, though.

COVID-19 forced these postponements, as well as the closing of the courthouse building to the public until it reopens on Monday, May 18. Until then, you can reach court staff via phone, fax or email.

A staggered court schedule is expected to begin June 1.
