Police Will Be Everywhere For Mardi Gras

Lafayette City Police will be having extra law enforcement around during Mardi Gras this year.

There will be extra law enforcement patrols by the Lafayette Police Department as part of the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign during Mardi Gras this year.

Lafayette Police Department Corporal Bridgette Dugas says that these "saturation patrols" as they are called, are in partnership with the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.

Dugas is reminding you that if you plan to drink, you should always designate a driver.

These patrols will begin on Friday, February 22 and wrap up on Thursday, March 7.
