Powerball – No Big Winner, Louisiana Ticket Claims $50,000
Those of you who still have dreams of wealth beyond your imagination can keep dreaming until at least Wednesday now, there was no jackpot winner in last night's Powerball lottery drawing. The multi-state lottery game entered into the evening with a top prize estimated to be right at $1 billion dollars.
But alas, when the ping pong balls had stopped bouncing there was no single ticket that matched the numbers needed to claim that near-record-breaking amount. If you did not get to watch last night's drawing, here's how it played out.
The numbers that were drawn for October 31, 2022, were:
13 19 36 39 59 Powerball 13 Powerplay x3
As we mentioned, not a single ticket matched the numbers needed to claim the game's top prize but there were some big ticket winners. Tickets sold in Florida, New York, and Oklahoma can lay claim to a $2 million dollar prize. Those tickets matched all five of the white balls and they opted in on the Powerplay.
There were also several one-million-dollar tickets sold. There were winners in California, Florida, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Ohio, and Texas. Those tickets matched the five white balls but did not opt-in on the Powerplay.
There were quite a few Louisiana-sold tickets that qualify as winners. In addition to the $50,000 winner Louisiana Lottery officials have confirmed that 27 tickets sold in Louisiana are worth $300 this morning, while another 89 tickets are valued at $100. The winning tickets either matched four white balls or matched three white balls and the Powerball. The $300 winners opted-in for the Powerplay.
According to the Louisiana Lottery's Big Wins page, the $50,000 winner was purchased at Greg Food Mart on Ames Boulevard in Marrero. That ticket matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball. The ticket purchaser also chose to participate in the Powerplay option.
Powerball administrators are estimating that Wednesday's drawing will be for an estimated $1.2 billion dollars. However, that number could go higher as more and more people become interested in getting rich quickly. The estimated top prize of $1.2 billion would make this the second-highest Powerball jackpot in history. The current top prize happened in 2016 when three tickets shared $1.56 billion.
The Mega Millions drawing is tonight if you could use an extra $87 million dollars. The drawing is at 9:59. The next Powerball drawing will be Wednesday, November 3rd at 9:59.
