Since the completion of the Robley Drive upgrade near the entrance to Lowe's on Lafayette's southside, motorists are having to be very cautious as the roadway now takes a slight but dangerous veer to the left as one travels toward Ambassador Caffery.

As you approach the slight shift to the left, it is so slight you may not even notice, especially at night.

If not careful, you could end up taking out a few mailboxes, cars or heaven forbid someone standing near or on the sidewalk. The only marker to caution motorists is this one placard.

One resident has wrapped an orange cone around the bottom of their mailbox going so far as to wrap the mailbox pole itself with yellow and black stripes.  I can't help but think some of these residents have replaced their mailboxes already.

This is how it looks from across the street near the Lowe's entrance.  Not a very impressive warning is it?

Be very careful in the area of Robley Drive near the Lowe's entrance.  The speed limit there is only 35 MPH.  Motorists also get impatient and disobey the signs stating No Left Turn and No U-Turn all in that general vicinity which adds another element of danger.

It seems as though more signage or even a guardrail would better serve this area of Robley Drive for the assured safety of motorists and residents.
