35-year-old Delana Francis has turned herself in to Scott Police. She has been booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center for Attempted Second Degree Murder. The investigation continues.

ORIGINAL STORY

(July 7) Officers with the Scott Police Department are looking for a woman they say shot a man she was romantically involved with early this morning.

Scott Police Department Police Chief Chad Leger says, via press release, that they are trying to find 35-year-old Delana Francis.

The man was able to call for help as the woman drove her 2016 black Chrysler away from the scene. The license plate tag is 897BKT.

The victim told Scott Police Department officers that the two had recently broken up, but they were going back to his home when an fight started between the two of them.

He says that's when he was shot.

Chief Leger says that if you see Francis, or if you know where the woman can be found, he is hoping you will call the the Scott Police Department at 337-233-3715. You can also choose to call the Lafayette Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 337-232-TIPS.

The woman was last seen driving away on East Gloria Switch Road, and Leger says they do believe the woman could be hiding in North Lafayette.
