It's vacation time in America! Yippee! So many families save up all year to go to that most magical of all kingdoms - Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida! Apparently Disney World has some little known secrets that will probably shock and delight you, my little friends. Thanks to our friends at Travel + Leisure for uncovering some of the .....magic.

  • Always thought you smelled fresh baked cookies in the park. yep, it's true, but it's been discontinued. The screams you hear during some of the scarier rides ARE piped in, however.
  • When Tinker Bell flies over the Magic Kingdom, it has to be a person in costume  who has a lot of upper body strength, otherwise, a big push is needed for the flight!
  • The LED powered orb for the nightly IllumiNATIONS show at EPCOT Center has to be rolled through a tunnel that only has 6 inches to spare on each side. Yikes!
  • Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square has no bathrooms, true to it's authentic time period.
  • The toughest restaurant to book is 'Be Our Guest', but don't miss out on the elaborate REAL movie cells that are used for decorations, once you get inside.
  • Main Street is lined with flags that are not technically American, which would require them to be raised, lowered, and flown at half-mast. Each is missing a star or a stripe.
  • You can buy anything with a Mickey Mouse emblem on it, but the exact color of Mickey's shorts is a secret that is kept locked up and never to be seen by the public!
  • The famous Disney Monorail had to be completely re -routed due to massive sinkholes on the property. Who knew!
  • There is a huge system of tunnels underneath the Magic Kingdom called Utilidors,

Read more Walt Disney World secrets, and be sure to book that family vacay early this year, ya'll!
