Security Screening for Guns Already in Place at Vegas Hotel/Casino
We knew it was coming. After the horrible attack at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas on Sunday night, it only took hours before security screenings were set up at one of the most famous hotels on the Las Vegas Strip.
According to Bloomberg, The Wynn Las Vegas began advanced screening for all visitors on Monday. At entrances to the casino and the hotel, guards are now checking all bags, and scanning guests with metal detector wands before they can enter the premises. This new procedure has created a wait of about 10 minutes before anyone can get in the door. And this is probably going to become the norm at hotels and casinos in a city that sees almost 50 million visitors a year.
MGM Resorts International, which owns Mandalay Bay, where the shooting originated from, has cancelled all Las Vegas shows for now.
