Shadows-on-the-Teche Howl-o-Ween Benefit
Shadows-on-the-Teche in New Iberia and Angel Paws Adoption Center have partnered up for a brand new way to celebrate Halloween this year. And, more importantly, to raise funds for these two amazing non profit organizations.
Community members and their furry companions from around the New Iberia area put on fabulous costumes, and are asking for your votes to see who best represents Howl-O-Ween this year. You can cast your vote for the dynamic duos, which include artist Paul Schexnayder and Joe-Gator, Mark Boyance and Scout, Lynn Deckard and Rover the Cat, Ricky Gonsoulin and Remi, Larry Hensgens, Jerri LeClaire, and sweet Liberty, Angie King and Lucy, Lisa Lourd and Baxter, Dr. Tina Theriot and Oliver, and Michael Weber and Lottie the Chicken. Each vote is $1, and there is a minimum of $5, with all donated funds being tax deductible.
All proceeds will benefit the historic Shadows-on-the-Teche, which is listed on the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and Angel Paws Adoption Center, which is part of the Iberia Humane Society, has "worked tirelessly to provide animals with homes and has saved countless animals from a life of homelessness and neglect."
The winners will be announced at a special spooky reception at Shadows-on-the-Teche on Halloween, October 31, at 5:00 pm., and also on a Facebook live event. The reception is free and open to the public, and guests are encouraged to come in costume. Pets will not be allowed on the grounds during the reception, however.
Voting is now open, and will close on Oct 31 at 4:30 pm. Good luck to one and all!
