For a second straight day, there has been a mass shooting in the United States.

At least nine people were killed and 26 people injured when a suspect wearing body armor and carrying additional magazines opened fire early Sunday in Dayton, Ohio.

The shooter, who is believed to have acted alone, is also dead.

This mass shooting comes just hours after a gunman opened fire in a Walmart and around a nearby shopping mall in El Paso on Saturday leaving 20 people dead and 26 more injured.

Local media reports suggest the Dayton shooting took place at or near Ned Peppers bar, in the heart of Dayton's Oregon District.

Multiple officers happened to be in the immediate area when the shooting happened, which allowed them to neutralize the shooter in less than a minute.

According to reports, the incident took place around 1:00 am ET outside the bar and it appears a long gun was used by the shooter.

Taylor Mayberry, who was inside Ned Peppers when the shooting took place, told NBC News she hid in the bar's bathroom as "tons of gunshots" were going off.

“I just heard a few gunshots and then saw everyone jumping to the ground,” she said. “I've never experienced anything like that, so I dove to the ground and started running to the bathroom. I saw people trying to move toward the exit.”
