Lafayette Man Identified As Suspect In Super 7 Shooting (UPDATED)

UPDATE: 27-year-old Nicholas Hebert of Lafayette has been identified as the suspect in this homicide and is wanted for Second Degree Murder. Hebert is considered armed and dangerous. If you have any information, call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.

UPDATE: The victim, 48-year-old Frederick Richardson, has died.

Lafayette Police officers are now investigating the shooting as a homicide.

Lafayette police are on the scene of a shooting at the Super 7 on NE Evangeline Thruway between Netta Street and Chalmette Drive.

One person was found injured and is in critical condition. They have been transported to a local hospital.

At this time no arrest has been made.

The investigation into the incident is still active and remains on-going.
